It was in 2005. Moving between Shanghai and Cologne. They started their own brand: KARAKORAM Accessoires. Their leading idea: to create unique hand knitted Accessoires made from exclusive natural wool qualities only. Pure and real. Quality rules. Not crying for attention- with a puristic, functional yet contemporary design approach, chunky hand knitted scarves, loops and hats have been of great importance since the beginning.
Made of pure Mongolian lambswool and cashmere at first, since 2010 mostly Peruvian baby alpaca and merino wool from South America is used for their products. Since a few years, ecological yarns in natural, undyed colors are becoming more and more important within their collection. Not only their yarns, also their production is taken care of with responsibility: Since 2014, most of their producing partners are fair trade certified.
