The handmade products of À LA COLLECTION from partially recycled brass and silk threads is manufactured in India and Indonesia. Working closely and transparently with its partners, A la has its products made in small workshops, ensuring a fair and long-term income for the artisans and their families.
After her six-month journey through Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India, Laura Hoppe founded her own label A la in Amsterdam in 2013. Through a photo reportage in ELLE magazine, more and more retailers became aware of her products and soon the demand was so great that she gave up her marketing job at a fashion brand to devote herself entirely to her own label. Sustainability and social commitment are very close to the Dutchwoman’s heart and so she was able to fulfill a big dream by founding her own fair trade label.
