Beginning in the early 1990’s, designers Angela Speith & Michael Oehler, set out to design a sustainable collection of footwear that could offer consumers a great deal of variety. After visiting an old lasts factory, they discovered a series of wooden soles from the 1970’s, which helped form their first collection of 60 wooden shoes which were presented at a Berlin art gallery. Throughout the years,
TRIPPEN has developed its own unique style that has nothing in common with traditional shoe patterns. They have designed numerous iconic shoe collections including Closed, Cup, Penna, X+OS, Happy, Box, Sport, Wood. Rather than modifying existing designs or following short-lived trends, Trippen has always searched for new solutions. Each season Trippen designs new uppers for each iconic collection and through constant experimentation & creativity are always searching for the new design ideas.
Trippen has always remained true to the idea of modern design combined with environmental friendliness, sustainability & social responsibility.
