The plastic polymers in chewing gum are the same as those found in car tires, for example. The chewing gums cannot be broken down and they remain on our roads for a very long time.
Chewing gum is the second most common type of waste in the world, and it generates about 100,000 tonnes of global waste per year.
TRUE GUM – A chewing gum start-up story.
Made in Copenhagen, Denmark: Four friends, Jacob, Peter, Zabrina and Morten, had the vision to revolutionize chewing gum – so they founded the True Gum start-up.
After True Gum was developed in home kitchens and produced in a first smaller location, the headquarters is now their own factory near Copenhagen.
Sometimes less is actually more. Only selected plant ingredients are used in the production of True Gums plastic-free chewing gum – no need for plastics, glycerine made from palm oil or artificial flavours.
