The TEZOMEYA studio is an open space located in Kyoto, Japan that invites everyone to enjoy the beauty of nature’s many arrays of color. The dyes they use are the same as those from ancient times; mostly made from dried plants, which originated in traditional medicine.
The colors of natural dye are entirely dependent upon which fabric and material they are applied. Cotton is especially difficult to dye so its crucial to understand what it takes to create somber, deep colors. In order to create these colors, they source organic cotton specifically to achieve these results. Compared to synthetic dyeing, natural dyes fade quickly over time.
