On March 4, 1957, Maglificio Dacò, founded in 1921, resumed its activities thanks to the intervention of Gian Ludovico Dini. The entire production took place within the company: from the yarns to the packaging used to make the garments, which were also destined for international fashion thanks to prestigious collaborations with Christian Dior and Balenciaga.
In the early 1970s, Paolo Dini, Gian Ludovico’s eldest son, on one of his trips to Maine, happened to be in the small yard of a sailmaker, and his gaze fell on an old work sail used on late 18th-century clippers. The inscription read, “PAUL & SHARK“.
The brand’s mission has always been the pursuit of excellence in both the quality of materials and workmanship.
