NEEDLES is a Japanese clothing label founded in 1988, one of the first brands under the Nepenthes umbrella. The brand is designed by Keizu Shimizu, a great admirer of American made product and film. Keizu seeks inspiration in vintage Americana, military and sportswear and combines these influences with Japanese shapes and fabrics to give the brand a unique aesthetic. Collections are characterized by a vivid use of patterns, colours and textures, classic papillon butterfly logo and balanced mix of leisure and activewear. Needles Japan made collections display their distinct and individual approach, amazing quality and well-chosen fabrics.
The Rebuild by Needles range was founded in 2012. The collection utilizes vintage pieces and upcycle them to create new one-off designs, resulting in each piece being unique with distinct character.
