Best friends turned business partners Duda Teixeira and Cristina Mantilla had been making jewellery for themselves and their friends before they decided to start their own brand ÉLIOU in 2018. When they received an email just days after the launch asking whether they would be participating in Paris Fashion Week, they knew they were onto something. Since then, Éliou has gone from success to success, in no small part thanks to a feature in Harry Styles’ music video where a bespoke piece spelled out ‘Golden’ across his chest. Their playful yet elegant jewels are handcrafted from cowrie seashells, freshwater pearls, ceramic alphabet beads and gold sourced from Brazil (Teixeira’s home country) so it’s no surprise thay they have sparked the interest of it-girls and celebrities alike.
