CRAYON ROCKS is an American brand founded by Barbara Lee, a special education teacher with 23 years experience working with children. Inspired by the work of occupational therapist Jan Olsen, Barbara created Crayon Rocks after noticing a gap in the market for writing tools that encourage children’s fine motor development. Cue the brand’s hero product: their clever and fun rock-shaped crayons whose form helps children learn to use their thumb, first and second fingers in a tripod grip. Based in Kentucky, Crayon Rocks products are made in the USA from soy wax and non-toxic powdered pigments.
