COLLECTIVE SWALLOW is a Swiss brand dedicated to gastronomic fashion, taking edibles a step forward by basing their designs on the sensory experiences of food. While turning collections into exquisite, ingenious mixes of materials and volumes according to cooking recipes is conceptual, the final outcome is a set of aesthetically sharp and functional garments. For every collection they pick a gustatory field as inspiration and create a collection according to related colors, structures, shapes and haptics. The visual impression of food, impacts the design as well as sensory connotations, connected to memories and moods triggered by the chosen dishes.
Collective Swallow was founded in 2015 and presented their first collection in 2017.
Head of Design, Anaïs Marti brings her intuitive, sensuous but also practical approach to unisex fashion, defining the signature of the brand. Her passion for fabrics and haptics and her understanding of pattern making and crafts originate in the training as a tailor/couturier she completed before studying fashion design and refining her skills at FHNW in Basel.
We believe fashion and the world should not be ruled by gender stereotypes. Therefore we create fashion to dress personalities. Collective Swallow garment fits are gender fluid & unisex. Following a unique size chart for all gender identities. Garments made to express yourself.
We challenge the norms, as they have led the system where it is.. We focus on every step we can improve to take responsibility towards an environment-friendly production and all people involved. We provide sustainability by choosing our materials cautiously and constructing lasting products with great care and passion for our craft. To further those values, we favor Swiss and European elements within our manufacturing chain.
We believe in transparency. As a customer you will find all information on the hangtag: where your garment was produced, where each ingredient was sourced from, how many hours it takes to manufacture the garment and how much fabric it consumes.
The only way to produce truly ‚green‘ fashion is to not produce new garments at all. We do our best to work as circular as possible. We design and manufacture durable and functional products. We prioritize regenerative resources. We preserve and extend what‘s already made, working with recycled fibers and garments. We use waist as a resource.
