Copenhagen native CECILIE BAHNSEN studied at the Royal College of Art in London, worked with Parisian couture houses, and was an LVMH prize finalist in 2017. She has a unique, ultra-girlish aesthetic. Whimsy is given a grown-up elevation with collections of voluminous, oversized dresses accented with ruffles, lace and embellishments. Statement silhouettes are toned down with a sophisticated palette of monochromes, giving an ultimately modern feel. Her dresses are entirely handmade, feature traditional craftsmanship such as crochet, and outstanding attention to details. Her designs come in voluminous shapes, reminiscent of COMME DES GARÇONS’ Rei Kawakubo, and are of the most delicate nature whilst not lacking a contemporary feel.
