ANGULUS

The ANGULUS adventure began in 1904 in the little workshop of Willy Madsen’s Father in Copenhagen. Willy, the son, was a teacher and was convinced that the shoes that the children were wearing prevented the natural movement of their feet. In 1928, he developped a collection in collaboration with physiotherapists. His wife, Elise Hojgaard, a great ballerina of the period, started wearing Angulus styles during her dance performances and it was an immediate success!

Today, the shoes are designed in Copenhagen by our talented designers and are handcrafted in Portugal. Since the 1960’s our factory in Portugal, a family owned business with a proud heritage of craftmanship, has been overseeing the creation of Angulus shoes. Every season, they send high quality shoes out into the world and onto the shelves of the best shops. Here, the quality-conscious customer can venture out into the world in Angulus shoes, that are not only beautiful to look at but also offer unparalleled comfort whether walking or standing still.
This year it has been over 115 years since the founding of the company, and today Angulus is a proud family owned company, passed down from generation to generation. Today father and son, Christian and Sebastian Dawe, are working side by side developing the brand.
