Inspired by Lurie’s childhood in Miami, the geometry of dominoes and dice and the stunning plaid textiles Lurie found on a 2017 trip to Sri Lanka, COMING OF AGE (COA NYC, for short) bags are made of iridescent gingham silk taffeta.

The line of accessories encapsulates the playful charm of nostalgia and the tenacity essential to coming into oneself. COA NYC considers the universal experience of adapting to an evolving world, utilizing lightweight luxury materials and organic forms to cultivate a cohesive vision wherein good style translates to practicality, regardless of wearer or context. COA NYC works closely with all-women manufacturers in New York’s Garment District and is dedicated to building a sustainable practice with organic materials. They focus on a sustainable practice by using recyclable and biodegradable packaging, organic materials, and work with small family run factories. All of COA’s fabric is 100% silk and 100% organic nylon and is locally sourced in NYC and handmade in India (silk) and Japan (nylon).
