RACHEL SCHULTZ is a New York-based artist and Creative Associate at Idun. Rachel’s work spans various subject matters but most often explores the human psyche. At times, working from models she seeks to capture their essence and at the same moment apprehend something that all humans can relate to. She is interested in juxtaposing color and subject matter, like that of anxiety and mental health, which can be veiled, dark and elusive with a lighter, more buoyant palette. Along with the human figure Rachel seeks to document moments in time with poetic mark-making, juxtaposing caution with impulse. Rachel’s work draws inspiration from art, design, music, travel, architecture, human psychology, and philosophy.
