CHIMALA specializes in high quality, artisan–crafted denim made from meticulously selected Japanese fabric. Designer Noriko Machada takes no shortcuts when it comes to crafting the brand’s vintage-inspired, workwear-influenced denim. Though she designs out of New York City, all Chimala pieces are produced in Japan, beginning with the weaving of selvedge denim on pre-war shuttle looms, and ending with distressing done by hand.
